Hit the switch on the upper left to raise the water more. Touch the switch and swim up where you see the coins. You’ll find the secret exit in this level (which leads to level 2-A) in the second section of the stage where the water rises. Hold right on the control pad and you’ll go through the gap and into a hidden area. Do not enter the door in this room! Instead, make your way to the upper right where you’ll see a gap. Go through that door and you’ll be in a room with a Star Coin and gray moving blocks. After you go through the checkpoint, you’ll see a pipe that launches you upward towards a door. You’ll find the secret exit of this level around the middle of the stage. In order to access this secret exit you’ll need to be Shell mario.
